Resolve Text Toolkit

Five practical subtitle and Text+ workflows for the active Resolve timeline.

Replace SRT text, change fonts, duplicate title templates, create native subtitles, and generate styled Text+ captions without rebuilding the timeline by hand.

What it does for you

  • Subtitle Creator turns rough Text+ clips into a real subtitle track and an SRT for YouTube.
  • Caption Titler builds styled Text+ captions from subtitles using your own Fusion template, one clip per line.
  • SRT Replacer swaps a translated SRT into the same caption clips, keeping style and timing.
  • Font Changer switches every caption to another font in one go, for languages like Japanese.
  • Template Duplicator moves every caption onto a new template without retyping.

Requirements

  • DaVinci Resolve Studio 19.1 or newer (the free version of Resolve blocks script windows).
  • Windows 10/11 and macOS 12+ (Apple Silicon and Intel). One file works on both.
  • Install: copy the .lua file into Resolve's Scripts/Utility folder, then open it from Workspace > Scripts.
  • Tested on Windows 11 with Resolve Studio 21.1 and on macOS 15 (script code paths). Email support if anything breaks.

What it does

Transfers subtitle text from an SRT file into existing Text+ clips on the active timeline by matching timecodes.

How to use it

1

Open the target timeline.

2

Browse to the SRT file.

3

Configure line wrapping and multi-text-box splitting.

4

Run Dry Run and review the match count.

5

Click Run Transfer.

Important notes

-

SRT timing must line up with the Text+ clips.

-

Skip frames can avoid transition handles at clip edges.

-

Ctrl+Z can usually undo the applied changes.
